AABPA symposiums remain a great training bargain. The symposiums is a full day of headline speakers, who make policy, publish analysis, or provide commentary and panel workshops that are relevant to your current projects.

AABPA maintains an active series of brownbag lunch programs featuring experts in public budgeting and program analysis. The programs are designed to impart specialized and highly practical knowledge on complex budget/policy issues, and to give AABPA members a chance for direct and informal contact with colleagues and with recognized authorities in the field.
CPE credits are available for our monthly programs, as well as the seminars. Just scroll to the bottom of the Program announcement for the CPE credit form.

With the Kubat Award, AABPA seeks to encourage student research and critical thinking that will prepare students for the budget and program issues they will encounter in their careers, particularly those in the public service.
Finalists are invited to present their work in poster form in conjunction with our spring Symposium and are interviewed by a panel of academics and budget and policy practitioners. The two winning students receive stipends of $1,000 for students to apply to their graduate work.

Each summer, AABPA hosts a training series for summer interns interested in budgeting and program analysis. “Careers in Federal Budgeting” is designed to give interns a better understanding of the budget, working in budget and program offices, navigating the hiring process, and planning for a career in the federal government.
This program is provided free of charge. Program details are announced at the Spring Symposium and members are invited to sign-up interns in their offices before registration is open to the public.
