Each year, AABPA holds a Fall and Spring Symposium and sponsors students to attend the events. In addition to attending the day at no cost, students report on one of the sessions, and their written summary is published on the web and in the AABPA newsletter, "The Bottom Line".

Competition

AABPA will soon be accepting applications for the 2012 MaryKathrynKubat Award for Graduate Student Research. Master’s candidates in public administration, public policy, and other related disciplines are invited to submit proposals for consideration in the 5th Annual MaryKathryn Kubat Award for graduate student research. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and present their research and a chance to win a $1,000 prize. All finalists will enjoy free admission to the symposium and recognition on the AABPA website. For more information, download the Kubat research competition flier.

Sponsorships
The University Sponsorship package allows a university to send students and professionals (e.g., professors, career development and/or admissions representatives, etc.) to the conference at a discounted rate.

Mentors
AABPA matches student participants with members in various federal offices during lunch, giving students the chance to meet professionals in the field. Students have the opportunity to explore the budget and program profession and get an inside perspective of careers they may pursue after their course work.
