Student Opportunities at the Symposia

Each year, AABPA holds a Fall and Spring Symposium and sponsors students to attend the events. In addition to attending the day at no cost, students report on one of the sessions, and their written summary is published on the web and in the AABPA newsletter, "The Bottom Line".

Reporters
A call for student reporters is announced twice a year. If you are interested in applying, please submit a resume and writing sample to Amanda Parker.

Mentors
AABPA matches student participants with members in various federal offices during lunch, giving students the chance to meet professionals in the field. Students have the opportunity to explore the budget and program profession and get an inside perspective of careers they may pursue after their course work.

Competition
During the spring symposia, the Student Research Competition offers students an opportunity to showcase research they have conducted around budget and finance.

Sponsorships
The University Sponsorship package allows a university to send students and professionals (e.g., professors, career development and/or admissions representatives, etc.) to the conference at a discounted rate.
